Calstock Rowing Club is proud to be among one of the oldest Cornish rowing clubs.  Our history dates back to 1872.  Our membership is some 80 strong represented equally by youths and adults. Calstock Rowing Club is a growing club that welcomes families as this is a sport that all can join in. We have members as young as 8 years old and as old as 88 so please don't hesitate to contact us and see how you can get involved in a community club that enjoys the finest amenity that nature provides us with  -  The river Tamar.

The main focus of the club is enjoying rowing, enjoying the river and having a good time. However that's not to say we are not competitive as we attend the Isles of Scilly World Pilot Gig Championships every year as well as all of the CRA and CPGA Regattas. We are affiliated to 2 governing bodies - the
Cornwall Rowing Association and the Cornish Pilot Gig Association - both of which governed by British Rowing which covers all rowing from Team Britain to Team Calstock. As a gig rower or a flash boat rower you have the support and benefit of many years of valuable experience from established associations and excellent rowers.

Rowing is such a fabulous sport and not only gives anybody the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Tamar river but it also allows you to visit parts of Cornwall you may not have visited such as the charming National Trust beach at Durgan and the famous fishing village of Moushole.
Once you get the hang of how to row without having to watch your oar, you really start to enjoy watching the vast variety birds and even see our resident seal that often follows us up the river. There's nothing like it !
